By participating in the Board Game Café at Amelia’s Restaurant, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. The Activity
The Board Game Café provides guests with the opportunity to enjoy a selection of board games in a relaxed and social setting at Amelia’s Restaurant.
Games are provided for recreational purposes and are intended to be enjoyed responsibly and respectfully.
2. Age Requirement
Where games have specific age recommendations, participants are responsible for selecting games appropriate for their group.
3. Booking & Seating
Places or tables may be subject to availability.
Bookings are valid for the date and time selected.
Please arrive on time for your allocated session.
Late arrival may reduce the time available for your booking.
Amelia’s Restaurant reserves the right to reallocate tables where guests arrive significantly late or do not attend.
4. Food & Drink
Guests may be required to purchase food or drinks from Amelia’s Restaurant in accordance with the venue's current policies.
Food and drinks should be kept away from board games and other equipment wherever possible to help prevent spills and damage.
Guests are responsible for any damage caused by deliberately or negligently spilling food or drink onto games, furniture or venue equipment.
5. Use of Board Games
Guests must handle all board games, cards, pieces and accessories with reasonable care.
Games must remain within the designated area.
Pieces and cards must not be intentionally bent, damaged, thrown or misused.
Guests should not write on or alter game components.
Games should be returned complete and in an organised condition after use.
Please notify a member of staff if any component is missing or damaged.
Some games may be provided in opened or previously used condition and may naturally show signs of wear.
6. Game Selection
Games are available on a first-come, first-served basis unless a specific game has been reserved in advance.
Availability of individual games cannot be guaranteed.
Staff may recommend games based on group size, experience or available time, but guests are responsible for choosing the game they wish to play.
7. Game Rules & Disagreements
Guests are expected to follow the published rules of the game they are playing.
Friendly disagreements are part of the fun, but arguments, aggressive behaviour or disputes that disturb other guests will not be tolerated.
Staff may assist with rules where possible, but are not required to act as referees or provide full game instruction for every game.
8. Behaviour
The Board Game Café is intended to be a friendly and inclusive environment.
Guests must behave respectfully towards:
Other customers
Amelia’s Restaurant staff
Other people's belongings
Board games and venue property
Abusive, threatening, aggressive, disruptive or inappropriate behaviour may result in guests being asked to leave.
No refund will normally be provided in these circumstances.
9. Alcohol
Where alcohol is available at Amelia’s Restaurant, it must be consumed responsibly and in accordance with the venue's licensing requirements.
Guests who appear excessively intoxicated may be refused further alcohol and/or participation in the Board Game Café activity.
Guests must not use board games or equipment in a way that could create a safety risk due to intoxication.
10. Personal Belongings
Guests are responsible for their own personal belongings while visiting Amelia’s Restaurant.
We cannot accept responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged personal property.
11. Children & Young People

Option A – Adult-focused:
The Board Game Café is primarily intended for adults aged 18 and over.
Option B – Family-friendly:
Children and young people may participate when accompanied and appropriately supervised by a responsible adult. Parents or guardians remain responsible for children in their care.
12. Accessibility
We aim to make the Board Game Café accessible and welcoming to all guests.
If you have accessibility requirements or require reasonable adjustments, please contact Amelia’s Restaurant before your visit so that we can discuss how we may be able to assist.
13. Photography & Filming
Photography or filming may take place within Amelia’s Restaurant for promotional or social media purposes.
If you do not wish to appear in promotional photography or filming, please speak to a member of staff.
14. Damage or Loss of Games
Where a board game, component or other venue property is deliberately or recklessly damaged or removed from the premises, Amelia’s Restaurant reserves the right to seek reasonable costs for repair or replacement, where permitted by law.
Normal wear and tear will not be charged to guests.
15. Changes & Availability
Amelia’s Restaurant reserves the right to change the available games, seating arrangements, session times or activity format where reasonably necessary.
Individual games may occasionally be unavailable due to damage, maintenance, previous use or other circumstances.
16. Cancellations
If a booking is made for the Board Game Café, cancellations and changes will be subject to the booking terms communicated at the time of reservation.
Where no advance booking is required, participation is subject to availability on arrival.
17. Liability
Amelia’s Restaurant will take reasonable care to provide a safe and enjoyable environment.
Guests are responsible for using the games, furniture and venue facilities appropriately and for following reasonable instructions from staff.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
18. Acceptance of Terms
By participating in the Board Game Café at Amelia’s Restaurant, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
